This is a summary of the video on sewer line repairs.
Well, my policy on the sewer repair is that if it stops up, there’s obviously something wrong with it. A normal sewer line, that if it’s PVC and it’s good and it doesn’t have any issues, it doesn’t get clogged up.
So sometimes you’ll get breaks that you can kind of live with and maybe get by for a year or so without having issues. But if it ever gets stopped up, there’s something going on with it, causing it to get stopped up.
Now whether that’s something major or just digging up and repairing maybe a broke section of pipe, that has to be determined on site. We do have a camera system. So if the line is clear, if we’ve come out and we’re able to clear a line, then I can run the camera and we can find where it is, and I actually have a locator and we can go out and locate the problem.
If the line is not clear, a lot of times we can tell in the general direction of where the pipe is, how much sewer cable that we put in there kind of gives us a distance of where the issue is. We can also usually follow it out with a probing rod. So we actually stick a rod in the ground and follow the line out to where the problem is, based on how much cable that we have in the line.
