This is a summary of the Water Heater Maintenance video:
So for a tank water heater, once a year you’re supposed to have it flushed. That’s basically the process of draining it out. We hook a water hose to the bottom of the heater. We turn it on; get all the sediment and gunk out of it. That’s pretty much all you need to do for maintenance.
For a tankless water heater, it’s the same thing, but the process is a little different. We actually do a vinegar flush through the tankless and that gets any of the scale or lime or anything that’s built up into that unit, and it cleans it out.
No matter who does the maintenance for your water heaters, someone should! If you don’t have the time or the expertise, call the professionals at Graham Plumbing Services for help at 281-302-6710.
